Direct Care Staff - Float

OHI is a non-profit organization that provides supports and services for people with intellectual disabilities and mental illnesses. Float DSP Responsibilites

The FDSP will work in a variety of locations within OHI to fill in for staff who are out sick or on vacation, or in unfilled positions. Flexibility in hours is the key! This job is an opportunity to increase versatility and skills supporting people with disabilities. The successfull Float DSP is someone who is experienced, a team player and who knows how to get things done! Must be able to communicate effectively with others and be reliable.

The FDSP is responsible for teaching daily living, communication and work skills, administering medications and first aid, providing safe transportation, assisting with or coordinating medical and other support service appointments, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation and records, safeguarding the monetary and personal resources of people supported, and implementing the philosophy, policies and procedures of OHI.

Starting Pay: $12.00/hour plus benefits

Float DSP Qualifications:

  • College of Direct Support ‚ DSP or Mental Health Support Specialist certification
  • 1 year of experience in a direct support role
  • CPR/First Aid
  • 40hr CRMA
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver‚ s License

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
